pre-show starting in a few minutes. I'll create a Youtube playlist for all the trailers like I did for E3

Just caught up with all the announcements/trailers now. In terms of new stuff, the highlight for me was Cult of the Lamb. Midnight Fight Express is maybe one to keep an eye on as well. Impressive for a one-man-team regardless! Don't know enough about Midnight Suns yet, but I'm looking forward to the gameplay reveal. Not really sold on Saints Row.

Of the other stuff on show, Sifu still looks great and I like how Jurassic World Evo 2 is shaping up - it looks significantly different/better than the first game.

I still can't get over my disappointment for Saints Row. It's basically 'How do you do fellow kids' and 'Am I out of touch? No, it's the gamers who are wrong'. Nobody who had an actual interest in SR wanted Fortnite Watch Dog bollox. They might be able to pull it back but an awful awful 1st impression.

Cult of the Lamb looks so interesting and bonkers, definitely want to try that.

Midnight Fight Express looks right up my street, definitely interested in that.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 looks interesting, has me actually interested in the 1st one which is currently on sale for a tenner on psn so will look up reviews for that.

Saints row was promoted very badly, the cgi trailer didn't appeal to many and the game play was too short. There has been alot more information provided in numerous interviews that give a better picture of the game

It won't be day one for me anyway as its out the week after Horizon Forbidden West

DC FanDome will have updates on Gotham Knights and SSKTJL.

And the schedule for the online only Tokyo Game Show has also been released.

Might as well throw this in here. THQ Nordic are celebrating their first ten years by putting on a digital showcase event in a couple of weeks (17th September). Little-known newcomer Geoff Keighley will be hosting the event which promises 6 new game announcements including entries in "legendary franchises that fans have been waiting decades for". No word yet on whether they'll be further endorsing child pornography, accidentally or otherwise.

Hard to predict what the new games could be given their convoluted corporate set-up. I'd love to see the next game Mimimi are working on, but that may not even be published by THQ Nordic, and they still have Aiko's Choice to come out anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well it won't be a new Red Faction game as that was moved to Deep Silver. Can only imagine what a Red Faction game would look like on this current gen

Do they still have the TimeSplitters rights?

I thought Deep Silver had the TimeSplitters rights? Unless you're all talking about Deep Silver, in which case.... carry on. 👀

I was on about THQ. Though I thought THQ bought Deep Silver.

    I can't keep up anymore

Looking at it some more, it really couldn't be any clearer who owns which IP.... It's not like they're treating them like Panini stickers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,691 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Think the Game Boy link cable means treating them like Pokemon.

But clicking into that chart I saw the notice about TimeSplitters

Of course if they have duplicates they might be able to trade with someone else to get another IP.

Though out of all the IP they acquired, how many are they doing something with? Well at least they got Singles: Flirt Up Your Life in that trade.

Keighley talks numbers for The Game Awards. The show should feature 40-50 games in some form or other, with new titles expected to be in the double digits.

The Game Awards is December 9th. So less than a month away. Not bad.
