Switch from Bord Gais to Electric Ireland

Hello, I am currently on a 12 month contract from Bord Gais (2 weeks left for the contract to expire). I am hoping to switch to Electric Ireland. My question is could I start the switch process now or wait for 12 months to finish with Bord Gais? Thanks

Ring Bord Gáis, tell them you are switching when you contract expires, ask them when is this ??
If they say its 2 x weeks time ask them can you exit now without penalty they will either say yes or no. If they say no you can still leave but they will possibly charge you an exit fee could be €50

It's 12 months so wait until the 12 months is up.

As the process takes a few minutes it's best to wait the two weeks.

Bonkers say that Electric Ireland will ring Bord Gais on my behalf. So I will wait.
