Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you have to arrive at the driving test with a fully licenced driver?

    My girlfriend has her test soon and is wondering if I need to come along or will she fail if she's not with a fully licenced driver.

    I arrived by myself for my test, but that was many moons ago. I think she'll be grand? But she wants a real answer from internet people.

    Yea she'll be grand having the car seized for driving unaccompanied, fines, points etc.

    Unless they are spying out the window of their offices they won't know whether she arrived alone or not, or whether she leaves alone.

    I have never heard of anyone being done for unaccompanied driving outside the test centre, but perhaps it happens.

    To be sure to be sure, have a 'full' driver with her.

    If the tester asks, can't she just say her father/mother accompanied her and has gone around the corner for a coffee? It's not their job to police the rule about driving unaccompanied.

    I don't think the tester can fail her for not showing up with a fully licensed driver. The only risk is driving too and from the test centre, you could get away with it years ago. But they are getting strict with it and can easily get the car seized. So it is a gamble.

    Given they're liable to fail you if your insurance disc stripe isn't green enough, you'll probably find that it is their job to police anything about what you do.
