Buzzing noise in attic after downstairs toilet flushed

As above, there's a buzzing noise after we flush the toilet downstairs. I haven't called the plumber yet. Is it something simple I can fix myself, or do I need to call the professional?

Your tank is refilling I assume. The buzzing maybe trapped air. Beyond that I have no opinion.

I’d say rubber/washer diaphragm needs to be changed in toilet ballcock. Turn off cold feed to toilet. Unscrew ballcock. Pop out rubber washer, bring to diy merchants and buy new one.

Your cistern might have a pumped supply. If it has that should be investigated.

Problem solved. The yoke that refills the cistern in the toilet was on the way out. Had a plumber out for another job, he just replaced it. Job done.
