Does Spillane even know he is doing that "yep, yes, yep, yeah" shite whenever somebody else is talking?

It is very annoying, surprising that a producer hasn't pulled him on it.

Can't they let Dublin/Kerry have a third/fourth place playoff, seeing as it's the real final?

I watch the game on Sky because of Spillane, Marty etc. RTÉ is rubbish.

If the game is not on Sky I watch RTÉ with the sound off and don’t listen to the “experts”.

Nonsensical ? Haha Sorry its accurate.. ;) look up a definition of nonsensical.. you are not relying on me for your enablement of Mayo in the championship... if you are... jesus.. on forums you dont get to deceide what is posted and when.. sorry... if you have a counter opinion go at it.

Yes, he did. I added the bad loser bit as he was as bad after the game. My point was he’s past his sell by date.

Have to say its the first time in years I actually feel excited about the championship. Dublin falling has given the sport a real shot in the arm which was desperately needed.

Really looking forward to a final which should be an equal contest which could go either way!

And it's quite personal for Spillane with two nephews on the Kerry team.

Really need panels from neutral counties.

The bad blood with Cavanagh and Tyrone goes back to 2003. When a team beats you with workrate, and skill, and you label it 'puke football' that never goes away despite faint praise from Spillane in 2005 and 2008.

Its two very contrasting teams... Mayo and i dont mean this in a negative context but they have great power, physicality...Tyrone the speed, guile and accrucy at which they transition play from backs to forwards impressed me.......managed the game there very well too until they tired a little.

Could you imagine the circus with Cavanagh, Spillane and Brolly thrown in today! They'd be worse than the Taliban.

The only team to beat Mayo in Championship football in Croke Park since 2012 is Dublin. They are acknowledged as the best team of all time so that is not a record to be ashamed of as you seem to suggest. These were not in the main one-sided non events either. We had draws in 2015 and 2016. We had one point defeats in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

If that Dublin team was not around, Mayo were best of the rest and have come back in the past two years with a new team with only 4 starters from the 2017 final starting the semi-final win against Dublin. There's very little baggage with this squad and many have medals at minor and u-21.

That said, Tyrone have assembled a good team too and the lift from new voices and new ideas in training seems to have brought them on in leaps and bounds this year. The final is up for grabs for whichever team wants it more but it's just lazy to write Mayo off based on their record against the Dubs teams of the last 10 years..

Problem with RTE is there football panels are dated. O'Rourke, Brolly, Spillane, Whelan, McStay all played football pre noughties. Dessie Dolan and Fitzmaurice are both brutal.

Thomas O Shea is about the only fairly decent contributor, they have. They really need to bring in new ex players. They need a retired Dublin player or two and maybe a Mayo player. Most if the present crop are regurgitating the same crap year after year.

They could get rid of Joanne Cantwell as well.

I agree mostly. Ciaran Whelan played up to 2009, when he was 33.

wow I really got under your skin, im not even from Tyrone....

Your grand lad I can't even remember what I said to you. You're not in the least irritating!

See you in 2 weeks time was what the Tyrone player said on RTE, sounding a bit carried away.

I know it's a SFC site, but congrats to the Royal Minors.

Ah Jayus yeah had forgotten the nephews connection makes sense. Having two panelist from each county does add spice to it tough. They get caught up in it, and let loose. The third neutral panelist ( in that case Whelan) adds the balance. Final will great excitement now for neutrals. Should be as tense as Donegal v Mayo 2012 but more open in play hopefully.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

It's great to see a novel final pairing. Kerry and Dublin supporters had themselves all excited about a rerun of the 1970's for the next few years. I don't think that would interest anyone else but I'm sure both counties will have a chat with their sponsors for next year.

Tyrone have some class players but their ability to turn a game into a battle and generally come out on top is probably their most commendable feature. Mayo have showed their battling qualities also. Should be a great final.

Don't think a lot of Dubs supporters who actually watched the games really believed they were going to share All Ire's with Kerry over the next couple of years most thought Kerry would dominate makes yesterday's result a bit more interesting as Mayo could well have the best prospects over the next couple if they get one this year not guaranteed by any means .

She is, in a bland sky sports ‘but then they all have lovely bottoms’ type way. Desperately heads off any controversial comment or discussion but that’s neither here nor there. Really enjoyed the game but the Yerras were woefully undercooked. I wonder will this prompt change in the provincial championships given the two big superpowers have been caught out? If Kerry in particular agitated for change it might be taken seriously. I hope Mayo do it in a fortnight but given I’m a huge admirer of Dooher from his playing days I wouldn’t be disappointed if Tyrone came through.

Sure you can post what you want, I was just stating that your recent posts - since ye got dumped out by Mayo - are absolute nonsense. I'm just surprised the more knowledgeable posters from your own forum haven't pulled you up. You do have form though.

In particular, your continued crying about 'the black arts/refereeing' is nonsensical, especially coming from a Dublin supporter.

FFS have a look at some of your posts.

Anyway, my take on the final is it is a coin toss. As much as I'd love to see Mayo finally get that win I wouldn't be surprised to see Tyrone win it in a tight encounter.

As usual, great excitement in the county but most are extremely wary of Tyrone.

Just looked back over the 2019 Semi Kerry vs Tyrone. I'd forgotten how long Tyrone had led in the game and how close it was in the end, only a goal in it. And almost identical personnel.

How did the bookies make Kerry 1/6 favourites yesterday? And the expert pundits for that matter. Wins over Clare, Tipp and a (this season) Div 3 Cork were hardly the reason.

spillane was hyped up beyond belief from the start of the coverage yesterday.

so much so I have to wonder was something said before they went on air which wound him up

He can get very agitated and red in the face.

A bit concerning from a blood pressure perspective!

Sean Cavanagh isn't coming across well either. He throws a lot of one liners Spillane's way, even covering neutral games.

He began yesterday's coverage with 'people in Tyrone are very angry' speech. 'We've been written off, accused of not giving info on Covid, not vaccinating' etc etc. The reality is the GAA did everything to facilitate Tyrone.

I can't stand this victim seeking status. Tyrone had legitimate cause after Paul McGirr's death in 1997, Cormac McAnallen's death in 2004 to be motivated by those tragic events. But ever since Mickey Harte stopped talking to RTE and became nonsensical this, everyone's against us rubbish has reached new levels.

Just look at the big sour childish head on Cavanagh pre match, he couldn't manage one smile and looked like a sulky child. Not the most popular man in Tyrone either, you may remember a few years ago he was marked out for very special attention.

I admire a lot of Tyrone players past and present as footballers and people. Brian Dooher, Brian McGuigan, the late Cormac McAnallen, Phillip Jordan, Conor Gormley, Mugsy to name but a few, are all A1. Cavanagh would nearly prefer to be on Hello magazine showing off his pretty wife.

Spillane is Spillane but there are two of them in it here.

The second black card Tyrone got didn't affect them too much because at least half the 10 minutes was taken up by injuries (real or otherwise).

Surely if there's a stoppage the timer for the black card should be paused?
