I’d say he will be back. Is there any word on whether Son has been training following the coach’s talk of an injury

There is some talk of Son training yesterday. Might see him feature in Thursday nights 2nd leg qualifying game if true.

I'm going to hold him for now in hope that he's alright.

Ben White was confirmed as being the 9th Arsenal player to have had a covid infection. He's eligible to play this weekend but his fitness is temporarily shot. Arteta also revealed Aubameyang struggled badly with the virus.

Mustn't have been too bad, he was back playing midweek.

The latest coming out of the club is that it is "not serious" but it still sounds like he will be out for at least two weeks. A lot of fans are sceptical as there was a similar situation with Matip last season where after the transfer window shut he was announced as being out for months.

It started with a Twitter ITK (indykalia) saying it is 2 maybe even 3 months out. The ITK has been reliable in the past and was the first to report that Liverpools Sporting Director Michael Edwards is leaving the club. Since then a Liverpool Echo journalist reported the "not serious" quote. However the gospel for Liverpool info is The Athletics James Pearce and he hasnt tweeted anything except to say he is off for a scan, there was nothing after that.

Its worth keeping an eye on because Jotas problem has always been lack of minutes. When he is on the pitch his xG is really good at 0.54, a goal every two games which would be a good return from a 7.5m player. If Firmino is out longer term than we think then Jota will be well worth having, I'll be getting him in myself.

He might even be worth getting now assuming Firmino is out for at least 2 GWs. If Firmino does come back early then its an easy transition from Jota to Mason Mount at the same price and his fixtures get really good from GW7 onwards.

I would imagine that Jota is good to start the next 2 GWs anyways, with GW7 v Man City being a bit more debatable.
