    Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what's the best way to prep a wall for painting? The wallpaper is down, minimal damage to the walls thankfully. But we're not sure if we wash down the walls with sugar water before or after we sand the walls and fill and sand any holes/damage. Everyone online has a different way of doing it.

Try and get as much of the old wallpaper paste off. Once dry. Sand down entire area, dust off, give walls a roll of standard white emulsion. Walk away as if you didn’t get enough paste off it can act as a retardant. Once dry, fill holes. The coat of white emulsion will give you a key/base for finish coats of colour you picked. Generally if you are painting ceiling give walls a coat after you finished ceiling.
