No signal on any of those for me. Earlier today 11684 had the Monaghan Kerry game, channel name Vitel 2, but it was weak, and in 4:2:2.

These were both encrypted I assume?
Was the signal strength very weak on the 12655 one?
    90cm dish could not tune

Unusual to have feeds on 5 East.

    Astra 4A (4.9°E)

    Frequency: 12634 - Pol: H - SR: 14250 - FEC: -

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-4 4:2:2

    Info: Gaelic Games/Hurling(+12610h,4500&12598h,14250)

12634 is channel name RTE GAA Clare v Waterford 8.5 dB. No signal 12610. 12598 is RTE Newery (that spelling) 7 dB. My dish is not in great shape.

Thanks, the vertical transponders must be of lower strength as I never had a problem tuning previously when they used be always horizontal.

any gaa feeds today for galway v wexford

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 letovo3275

galway and wexford are "Foreign satellite"? 🤔

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,410 ✭✭✭swoofer

I can see your new😊 Yes Feeds are on foreign sats and with a motorised dish and the correct receiver they can be received. They used to be Free to air but are now usually encrypted.

here is a little link, look closely and it shows you the satellite.

When its FTA they post on here.

If you type in hurling in the search box etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 letovo3275

since all the satellite constellations are "foreign", even Astra 28.2, i thought that the categories were more about the programming than the constellations. seems a bit weird to consider 28.2 a domestic satellite.

    interesting website though, thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,410 ✭✭✭swoofer

Look at all the houses they have a small dish, that's for 28east and its UK/IRELAND domestic, not foreign. RTE/VIRGIN/TG4 use the sky platform. Its when you go to 13, 19, 23, 26 east etc and 15, 20, 30 west etc you are entering foreign. Hence this thread.

We have feed hunters on here and can scan sats quickly so can pick up foreign transmissions, ie feeds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 letovo3275

yes I know what a "sky dish" is. they're the rusty oval ones. its a bit weird to think that comcast owned sky operating from SES Luxemburg owned satellites is domestic Irish but that GAA is foreign.
