Failed Bike Test [Navan] - questions

I failed my A2 test today in Navan. It was my first time sitting a bike test.

Before I book for a re-test would anyone know of an instructor in that area that could run through a pre-test with me?

My IBT cert is out of date from today. It was issued on the 26 July 2019. That date is currently not included in the extension groupings. Will it be extended or do I need to sit Mod 5 again?

Spoke to someone in RSA there; they are not planning any extensions to those who's IBT certificates fall outside the groupings announced by Minister Naughton last week. It seems grossly unfair.

No IBT; No insurance; No riding; No chance of sitting test for a while yet, given the backlog. Terrific!

I have applied for the test a good few weeks ago and still have a year of IBT left but at the pace they are going it may not be enough

Could possibly end up stumping up another 500 yo yo just to stay on the Road

In the same situation.

Wrote mails to Minister Naughton regarding the discrimination of riders who achieved their IBT certificates from July 1st 2019 onward and how these are probably the most affected of all groups.

Not necessarily no IBT == No Insurance.

Principal are continuing to insure me and my IBT expired in June 2021, my insurance on 26th July . Called them and they confirmed on 2 separate calls that my insurance is valid. Maybe check with your insurer if you haven't already

No IBT == No way to apply for the test.

I can provide you with the mail I sent if you want. Might help you create you own.

I've been bombarding her office with emails for a while now... it seems bizarre to offer extensions to people in the first half of 2019 and not offer an extension to anyone in the latter half.

Yeah, I know the lady that started that petition & it really did help.

But, as I said already, you can't offer an extension to those in the first half of 2019 and not offer it to anyone from July onwards - discrimination based on nothing, really.

I'd say if you have a year on your IBT then those cases are probably lower priority than those with imminent expiry dates.

They will get through them; just have to bide our time & wait. Bloody nightmare. I'm completely raging I failed considering I had my chance to be done with it all & completely blew it.

i thought once you handed over your ibt cert to the test instructor..you wont have to hand it over again should you fail the test? no?

Yeah, I have the calls recorded.

The only thing they were interested in is the learner permit (mine expired in February 2021 and I renewed so they requested a copy (front & back) and confirmed the insurance is valid.

Will forward you the mails I sent, tomorrow.

I had my cert in my pocket but wasn't asked for it by the instructor. I presume they have the cert on the computer they input everything into while you're sitting there before going out on the road.
