Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Logbook hasn't came back

I bought a car 2 weeks ago from a private seller. I signed the form and put my address on it and the guy (seemed completely legit and I have his address) said he would send it off. That was 2 weeks ago today. I checked https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/changeOwnership.do and it has no recent change of ownership registered. Is it likely the guy never sent it off or that there is a backlog/delay? Thanks

Was the old log book in the seller's name and address? If yes and you have his contact details then ask him if he remembered to send it off and then drop a subtle hint that you would be "concerned" that any parking and toll fines from now on would find their way to him.

    One example from eflow

If you’ve recently sold the vehicle, the DVCSD should be notified, so their vehicle ownership records can be updated, as eFlow cannot update these details. However, once DVCSD records have been updated, our records will update automatically, too.

Maybe just ask if they sent it first.

I bought a car about a month ago and it took 3 weeks for the new logbook to arrive, probably due to a backlog in Shannon. So yours should show up in the next few days.
