Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I seen my first 212 today. A neighbour has bought a brand new Hyundai Kona in red. A lovely red it is too. I must say the revamp really makes them much nicer looking not that I minded how they looked. They were something different not ugly like the first Juke but not great looking like a Laguna but it stood out.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Ye I agree. It would look better with a KE reg on it.

Honestly do it's a lovely car and a nice colour too. Hopefully whoever owns it is loving it.

It does. Then I remembered that Salesman told me last time that there will be limited amount of Cupra dealers in Ireland and Limerick is one of then. Just because a place sells Seat does not mean they sell Cupra too. So most likely the customer is from Tipp and ordered it in Limerick.

Yeah, there’s only 8 Cupra dealers and about 25 Seat dealers.
Another seemingly bizzare move but there you go.

Yes, it's in James Barry Motors in Limerick. Pierces in Tipp are Cupra Specialists, but not Main Dealers so can't sell them new.

Do you work for Hyundai? The first 211 you saw was a Tucson if memory serves, and you pimp them at every opportunity!

James Barry are official Cupra dealers since last year. They sell cars to a lot of Tipperary customers.

212 WX 53 black Opel van, not a very exciting first spot...
Also spotted a couple of young traveller lads in a 212 D white transit, they're usually first around here with the new plates.

Those back lights are hideous, they're like they belong to a 70s car.

That’s all about to change a good few more cupra dealers coming on board my seat dealer in the west being one of those.

Are you parked in their driveway or something?

Nice car though, PHEV from the looks of it. Easily best in it's class.

Seen a white D reg Octavia estate (when did they become such a tinny awful looking car?) and a D reg one of those high coupe Cupra things.

The new one is horrible, that grille is truly awful the way it sticks out.

Must be a fairly big jump in sales this July . Numbers in Dublin over 12k . Was 7.5 for July 20.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,400 ✭✭✭sk8board

a bit of a jump alright - 26k new July registrations versus 21k last year, however last year a huge amount of 201 deliveries got pushed to 202.

as for July models, the Tucson and Corolla are literally streets ahead, especially the Tucson. double the volume of the 3rd best selling car (Yaris).

zero Tesla delivered, which is interesting, but probably due to the June deliveries in advance of the price hike. Will be interesting to see how it affects them over e next few months. The ID4 is still the volume driver for EVs
