playing tv off phone

Hi

I tried to play my phone off the tv using a usc c to hdmi cable but it didnt work ...do i need something different or should this work ..

Your phone has to support the protocol and possibly having the correct cable.

Your phone will need to support HDMI Alt Mode

Depending on the TV, you maybe able to cast/mirror/stream using DLNA?

If you wish to use a cable you need a hub, preferably with a power source input (usually called pd charging) or it won't last long on battery.

They used to be much more expensive than that, I paid about 45 for mine and I would be somewhat dubious of the cheaper ones knocking around nowadays.

As said, your phone has to be compatible.
