    Donnelly is absolutely spoofing here, basically saying they don't support the legal basis of the Green Cert where a clear test is sufficient.

    This isn't really about hospitality - it's about a regime that cannot take any decision that isn't around covering their collective backsides. It's hospitality today, it will be travel in the next few weeks and it will be schools and colleges next. There will always be reasons not to do something and these will always, it seems, be the only consideration.

    If we can't move ahead in July can you just imagine what October and November are going to be like...

    I want to fricking live my life and have a right to earn a living. . ..in the tourism business. We are being controlled by a couple of despots .. .chancers the lot of them

    We have to learn to live with Covid. .like they do on the Continent. There will be many more variants ..we cannot keep controlling the population ..many of whom are vaccinated.

    ICU numbers and hospital numbers are low.. The curve is flattened and hospital not overrun ..goalposts moved again. We will be locked down again for winter if Tony H has his way.

    Don't be expecting a return to normality for Chistmas 2021. .. I seem to remember Tony H warning

    Am beyond mad. .time to protest and demand strong leadership! .

    Completely sensible decision, after all we've gone through to risk our progress for the sake of a few weeks would be madness. If pubs open its a free for all no matter what publicans say. Once their doors open they don't give a **** what people do inside.

    It won't be just a couple of weeks. They intend to have a "plan" by the 19th for implementation. Also this is impacting all indoor activities. Please stop going on about drink only. Summer camps cancelled, indoor training put back again. It's never ending.

    Not comparing this to famine, just trying to explain why Irish Govt is being so cautious. We have no experience in dealing with national emergencies with high death tolls.

    People took to the streets in January and were met with pure vitriol. They were shamed as far-right lunatics, as granny-killers, as anti-science, and as conspiracy theorists.

    Now we see exactly what they were protesting about. Livelihoods are being decimated. I could understand measures being taken pre-vaccination, but there is no justification any longer for the measures these zealots are taking.
