    True, unfortunately.

If he does have some kind of nervous/psychological vulnerability, he's done amazing to get to the level he's got to and must have some natural talent.

He's gone birdie birdie to finish out the from 9 after a horror start.

Im sure he's seen/sees a sports psychologist, but they obviously haven't got to the bottom of it yet.

But as I've said before golf is incredibly difficult and the pressure at that level when you're fighting to just support yourself and your family is immense.

Nice end to front 9 at least. Disheartening every weekend to check on him and see the name has disappeared well down the leaderboard. Get back to E for the day and he'll be alright

I think that's just golf and it's what separates the best guys from the likes of Seamus

He just had a nightmare 4 holes, Sunday back 9 with big fed ex cup pts up for grabs is when he usually finds it tough.

To be fair to him, he has settled after that horror start. If he can somehow get back to level for his round it would be a decent days play. I know Watson is -11 but he and Day haven’t won for a long time and I can’t really see them pulling away. If Seamus could get back to 4 behind you never know what could happen tomorrow.

You never know but there is great chance of Seamus bottling it if he gets anywhere near the top on a Sunday.

Birdied the or 5 12th so he’s back to +1 for his round and only 4 back. The way the weather is turning, anything can happen to the leaders here. If he can pick up one more shot and get out of there with a 70 it has to be a great day and should give him some confidence. I’m probably clutching at straws but I’m desperate for him to get it done.

Showing serious character to come back from that start, well done.

Needs a strong finish, but has rallied really well

Back to level for the day, great turn around tbf.

Playing with Kisner who is now 3 shots worse than him for the day after being 5 better off than Seamus after 6 holes!

Good comeback, fair play to him

    Impressive bounce back

Back to level on his round and almost sank a 17 footer on the par 3 16th for birdie to move to -8. He’s back in good shape now though and just needs to keep the head and get finished.

Finished with a bogey 5 on the last, a shame as a par would have been a great way to end a difficult day. Still, he has an outside chance tomorrow especially if Hickok can drop one more on 18.

Seemed to struggle to find fairways today's.

Would a top 10 be enough for another guaranteed start?

Yeah, a top 10 gets him in to the next tournament.

Didn't see any of yesterdays play but was tracking his score, couldn't believe the start he had but great character to come back the way he did. Might suit him today, out early and with a less established player, could post a good score. Fingers crossed he gets off to a good start and has a top ten finish, well capable of it.

He is paired with Poulter, hardly less established.

Sorry you're spot on, was mixing him up with Kearney's playing partner in the BMW in Munich

Someone will go low today and post a score and Seamus out 2 hours before the leaders so fingers crossed he can post a good score. He was playing with Kisner yesterday who also played shît so hopefully if Poulter plays well Seamus will feed off it.

Look it, these Sundays are what it’s all about for him and these type of days are why he’s a professional golfer. As an amateur it’s incredibly hard for me to keep the head when I know I have a good score going so I can’t imagine how hard it is on the PGA tour when you’re playing for your livelihood. Winning is the hardest thing to do in golf and Seamus obviously has some sort of mental block. He’s due a strong finish he has been in this position enough times now he has to make one of them count. It’s funny, if he holed his par putt last night I’d give him a great chance today but that one shot difference just makes me think his chance could be gone. There’s an awful lot of traffic on the leaderboard in front of him so he really needed to be one or two shots better than he is. But, he still has a chance. Cmon Seamus.

1over after 3, an improvement on yesterday, Kisner -6 after 15.

Is the shot tracker right on that bogey seems wierd he only hit his 2nd 2ft...

Missing the fairway is also shocking enough with an iron

Birdied the 7th to get back to level for his round. Needs to find a few birdies and post a score like Kisner has done. He’s played the back 9 well this week so fingers crossed he pushes on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,791 ✭✭✭Motivator

Seamus birdied the par 4 10th to get to -7, missed an 8 foot putt on 11 to get to within three. He’s currently inside the top 20 but with so many players behind him that’s going to change and could change quickly as players start picking up shots. Finish -11 needs to be the target. It’s worth mentioning he seems to be hitting good putts they just aren’t dropping.

A top 10 would be a good result

Top 8 for me who backed him e/w would be even better

Another birdie for Seamus, now to -8 and currently tied 12th. Yesterday was a huge missed opportunity and his first 4 holes did all the damage. Anything under par yesterday would have put him in the thick of it today. Still, a good chance to post a good score and sit back and see how much money/points he’ll pick up. A top 10 finish is in his mind as he knows it gets him into the next event.

Seamus is playing some stuff, a fourth birdie of the day to get him to -9 with three holes to play.
