You do realize that he didn't just rock up two weeks ago and launch the channel? He has been working on this for months!

    already answered to someone else.

It's a tad odd to go on leave within two weeks of it launching... Like if his show didn't start until September or something, I'd get that. But this is him doing a handful of episodes and running off.

Could his absence be a health issue thats just popped up?

Entirely but it seems like an incredible coincidence that the channel has rapidly become a laughing stock.

Most of them don't watch it, they just come on here to try and get a cheap rise.

I don't watch it as don't have access to it but if I had, I'd definitely turn it on to see just what sort of dangerous BS waffle they're coming out with given the way they themselves said they were going to operate.

I used to regularly watch Fox News for the same reason.

Do you think people should stick to echo chambers hearing only views that they agree with?

I'm not watching it, I've seen a few clips and plenty for me. Beyond people getting very excited about opening night figure but it's been largely downhill since. They basically have so far failed to compete.

Personally I'm delighted to see it failing. This latest news is just another hit for it. On top of that they're facing plenty of credible Ofcom complaints.

Anarchy is now right wing , lol.

    You are a funny chap.

    Actually.

Not sure you are following along. ... It is.

shocker. Your raging against the man... With the man.

Actually I'd only switch them on if there was something major and live on.

    But sure look ...

Haha, once again people who hate "GB News" seem to now love reading and quoting the Express newspaper.

There's a lot of fake outrage on this thread.

I've only included cause it gives an idea of the viewing figures. :pac: I'm not even outraged...

Must say I was surprised to see the Express reporting on it but even they are not confident it will last A journalist from the Daily Telegraph is also seeing the writing on the wall
The week's end saw some of its flagship programmes failing to perform against other, established stations. Figures released last Friday by Media Monitoring Services on June 18 and reported by Victoria Derbyshire show after a week of adjustment, GB News' flagship shows didn't match up to its competitors.

Great British Breakfast attracted 56,000 viewers, and Brazier and Muroki 36,000. Channel Four and BBC shows still dominated five spots among the top eight performing networks. The top eight channels by views as of last Friday read as follows:

    BBC Breakfast: 1.4 million
    Good Morning Britain: 574,000
    Channel 4 News: 323,000
    BBC Newsnight: 288,000
    BBCNews 9am: 226,000
    Sky News Breakfast: 73,000
    Great British Breakfast: 56,000
    Brazier and Muroki: 36,000

The latest figures will seem sobering for some of GB News' viewers and backers. Some have started questioning whether the channel can survive. Daily Telegraph contributor Stephen Armstrong said the channel is "in danger", stating the "declaration of war on woke" has led to more people "mocking than watching".

Speaking to Politics Home, one ex-Number 10 adviser rooting for the channel's success seemed to have lost his early optimism. The advisor said: “I really thought it would be a success and show up all the naysayers." He added: "I’m not sure I have been right.

I was just about to post that link to the express, good grief they have a long way back now. I also can't understand why you would launch a channel in early summer..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,570 ✭✭✭Tyrone212

I didn't think the obituary would happen this soon. Well seems like their war on "woke" sent everyone to sleep. Oh well.

That's funny because I could apply the same thing to those who praise it but don't actually watch it.

I thought it'd lurch along for a few months getting more and more comical but it cant even do that right.

Very anti-climactic. Youtubers have been more dramatic.

31k watched Andrews final show last night at 8pm. There's more people in Leitrim than watched his finale last night out of a country with over 65m. So much for the voice of a quiet majority haha.

And there wasn’t even a match on

Why are we comparing the demise of an actual paper newspaper launched in 2016 (when the writing had been on the wall for physical newspapers for well over a decade) with a TV/Youtube proposition which seems to have pretty good ratings?

Because its rating have fallen (already) in a similar manner to the original higher sales of the New Day.

Probably had a fit of pique. After all, being pampered with bbc production values and professionalism, then being the anchor, face and chair of a total sh1tshow, must have really hurt his ego.

How the hell has this "channel" managed to completely miss all of its target markets :pac:

Its a case study in how not to do, well everything.
