We were originally booked into the Westport house but said **** it we'll go Achill instead. Annex pub up the road as well was great craic.

If you didn't go with the Ducato what was your second choice excluding the Boxer or Relay ?

    It was literally those 3!

I guess Crafter/Sprinter or maybe Master/Movano/NV but you’re losing the width in the back so layout wouldn’t work.

Finally fitted the last wall to the toilet/shower. Put an LED quadrant strip light vertically in the corner. Still need to silicone the joints, but we’re getting there.

also got the tambour door fitted. Makes a huge difference to how complete the van feels.

The underslung tanks are finally in too, and we got the courage to test the blown air and water heater systems. Thankfully they both work!

Still a bit to do, mainly finishing off small enough details, it’s a fully functioning van now though which is a huge relief.

Finally got the shower toilet room finished 😄

Actually, still need to fit the receiver for the tambour door, which is why the cabinet door doesn’t go all the way across.

Went on a lovely tour of the north east for the last 6 days.

Good example of how the folding bed works when you want to move something big. We needed to move 7 internal doors, not a bother!

There’s still a few small jobs to do but not important ones. Heading off again tomorrow - it was a long time coming to this point!

    Hi,

Great thread and great insight of it takes. Did you have much hassle trying to find an engineer to sign it off for you at the end? Or how did that whole process work?

Hi Graham, that part of things is quite straightforward. We knew what was required from the time we did the Transit so there weren’t any shocks. A good SQI will run through things with you in advance.

Fitted the updated digital controller for the Propex heater. Works a lot better than the old rotary controls, and matches the other CBE switches, symmetry is restored!

Absolutely epic build man. I just spent the entire day reading through all the posts.

Fantastic work and craftsmanship. I only can hope to obtain such a high degree of expertise. Well done!

A small job that just never got done.

used hygiene board to cover off around the cassette toilet hatch

Some room to store stuff like toilet tablets and rubber gloves 🤢

And then a bit bigger of a task!

The van was sitting quite low in the back, mainly because it’s a 335 standard duty model and not a 435/Maxi.

Over the last week we fitted air suspension, there’s bags in place of the spring assisters, they have their own gauges and up/down switches. The pump lives inside the drivers side step, all hidden away. Bit of a tricky job routing the air lines (we brought them through the inside of the chassis rails for neatness and added complexity)

You can see here it was sitting quite low.

Much better now, and because both sides can be raised and lowered independently, it’ll make levelling it when parked way easier.
