Do you think the CMO in Denmark is concerned?

    This is beyond farce now.

I really don't care about the CMO in Denmark OR the CMO in Ireland. England have pushed back their reopening due to the Delta variant. It's quite possible that the same thing will happen here. I'm past the stage of caring.

If you somehow believe hotels taking your credit card details means nothing, next time you are in one walk out without paying and see how long it takes them to trace you.

So do you think that hotels will be able to access our phone numbers through our credit card details for contact tracing? And if so do you think thats a good enough reason to allow indoor dining in hotels but not in restaurants? Can restaurants not access our contact details through our credit card? Or is it just hotels that can do that? Or is it that everyone in a restaurant pays cash and everyone in a hotel pays card? Do restaurants not take your name and number upon arrival? Or is it that the credit card method is a better way to contact trace? So much better that it allows hotel guests to dine indoors? Genuine question

Very childish and immature answer it must be said.

You know full well we have a GAA season ongoing.

Plus we had Euro matches but turn them down because "we're not there yet".

I would certainly like to know how they came to the conclusion of 20% of cases. We heard end of last week Delta cases were decreasing and now its 20% of cases all of a sudden. Its bad to say but I can't just take NPHET at their word after the while antigen debacle. And coming a day after Leo disagreed with them on travel.

They can’t trace you through your credit card details. All they have is your card number - do you think if you find a card number on the ground you can ring the bank and ask what the name and address on the account is?

All the hotel can do is use information given on check-in for contact tracing.

They can charge the card post departure to recover any unpaid charges but no bank will give account holder information over to someone in possession of card details.

Same as always. No foresight, no planning just reactive nonsense and when caught out the good ole "ah shure it'll be grand!" solution prevails

This idea of AGS using 'discretion' is laughable bordering on dangerous.

It's either against the law or it isn't. AGS are there to enforce law in a consistent manner. Enforcing when they feel like it, or worse against whoever they feel like, sets a dangerous precedent.

So covid regulations require hotels to log who sat at which table for breakfast and who was sitting at that table after you.

Do you have a link to this in the Failte Ireland guidelines please, I must have missed it.

No need. I have stayed in hotel for reasons of work during this pandemic and have been in two different hotels on breaks since they reopened and that is how it has been in all of them.
But you believe whatever you want too, it`s of no concern too me

I think Ireland and the UK are the only country waffling about variants 😅

Sigh..... they verify your details from your credit card on check-in.
Do you know of any restaurant last summer that verified the names or phone numbers they were given by walk-ins ?

So there is no requirement to keep records of who sits at the table before and after you but all the hotels have decided to do it anyway.

And they will be using credit card details to contact trace people without having their phone numbers.

And this is why hotels are allowed serve indoors but not restaurants.

    Ok.

Either way, at this stage I could care less. Believe whatever makes you happy. I have better for doing.

    Ok.

How many times do I have to say it before it registers. At the present stage of reopening hotels were allowed to serve indoors because of the numbers and the ease of tracing.

No, in the real world, European leaders are talking about moving the euro 2020 finals away from Wembley because of variants.

I would have thought it simple enough. Hotel dining, unlike restaurants, limited to the number of residents, and traceability by means of hotel credit card details should someone test positive

The good news is the Judge doesn't agree with you and would like more information beyond just accepting some woolly explanation.

    You said "European leaders"

In that link we have a politician making a populist comment about hosting the final.

He doesn't even mention variants, which is another thing you said.

Well there were leaders. Dragging and Bavarian premier. Plus here are more quotes from various European leaders seen as you are so pedantic in order to save the precious thread narrative

Mr Macron said "we'll have to keep an eye on things" for teams and fans, particularly in view of the rapid spread of Delta variant in Britain.

Hangon, I thought it was UEFA and they were bullies that Ireland bravely stood up to. Now you are suggesting that its 'European Leaders'?

Ms Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron last week voiced concerns over allowing fans to crowd Euro 2020 stadiums, with the German Chancellor saying "caution is still necessary" at "big events".

Mr Macron said "we'll have to keep an eye on things" for teams and fans, particularly in view of the rapid spread of Delta variant in Britain.

I don't see either of them talking about moving the game away from Wembley there?

We were told here only Ireland and the uk have concerns about the delta variant. Here was evidence that others do. And I can get lots more.
I fail to see your point other than somehow something that doesn’t align to the thread narrative again requiring the regular pile on?

And its not in their gift anyway. The issue I believe is if UEFA and Johnson can't reach agreement on the quarantine requirements.

UEFA have been talking about moving the final to Budapest from Wembley. It's because the initial numbers touted to be at a Wembley final are now questionable given the UK did not open up as originally suggested yesterday. Hungary are allowing full stadiums

I think this contention is well and truly out the window.

And European leaders are “talking” about the final. I provided the link to Draghi and Soder actively calling for it, and the two quotes above are “talking” about it.

I believe its more to do with quarantine requirements for accredited staff etc.
