Around here (midlands) first cut meadow was making from €170 - €220 an acre depending on quality and quantity. These would have all been cut by now. A first cut meadow still standing at this stage of the year and especially after the burst of growth the past 3 weeks, would be mostly stem now and won’t make good silage so price would probably reflect that. If it was grazed up until April it might be ok but if not it’s probably only a hay meadow at this stage.

That’d be it alright. And the funny part is if you cut it and baled it you’d struggle to get €25 a bale for the silage but lads seem to have no problem giving it for a standing crop. It works out as expensive feed in my eyes but I know that’s what it’s making.

Yeah, its fairly stemy alright and didn't get much fertiliser so really only good for hay. €100ish an acre be a fair price?
