Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dave was a punk and bostaph likes jazz and it shows in their playing and that’s why Dave wins for me

Bostaph is tidy though, but Lombardo is just something else, seen him play with fantomas years ago, Jesus he's just incredible

Was it Kirk who sold it?

Odd if it was IMO, hardly like he needs the money.

Probably sold it as it was collecting dust, when was the last time he used anything other than an ibanez or his les Paul?

    He rarely uses Ibanez...

Was he in possession of that strat that sold though? Feels like it was just sitting in a warehouse somewhere

ESP have completely left the off the shelf market now , only LTD seems to available these days. I recall the ec models costing €1300 now they seem to be a custom brand. Most metal bands use Ltd models

They rebranded the Japanese factory stuff to E-II, and the expensive stuff is ESP

I have an Edwards les Paul (john Sykes) and it looks like they were forced to change the shape of the headstock a few years back (mine is Gibson shaped) and since then the 2nd hand value if mine seems to be rising ;) ...I just watch for fun though it’s not worth selling

That’s obv a tuner on the headstock

Getting rid of the Seymour Duncan’s and replacing them with more traditional bare knuckle les Paul pickups

The Edwards is a bit lighter than a custom but plays great. The new ones have a chunk missing from the headstock probably after a word from Gibson:)

yea its stunning, too bloody expensive though, you d be lucky to get one for 6/7k, havent seen holt play it much either

I like the black with gold trim on the esp’s . Interesting about holt , players tend to use the LTDs as workhorses.

i think esp are producing far superior guitars over gibson, a fella wanted to buy mine recently, i told him not to bother with gibson, the eclipse is far superior, so thats what hes doing. holt plays his ltd's probably more so than his esps, im very tempted to buy one

The ESP is far superior , I’d rather a passive rock guitar than active metal though , far more range

I have the Ltd version without the sticker and fabricated wear and tear. Great guitar. Floyd Rose tremelo is a pain in the hole when it comes to changing strings though

Always wanted to give a guitar loaded with emgs a whirl, mostly cause they look cool ha, would there be much difference to a set of humbuckers?

Pretty much plays itself. Incredible instrument.

Floyd Rose's are something you either love or hate. Been changing them for 20 years at this point, so I'm used to them.

Different frequency responses, quieter, potentially more "sterile". I love them, though I find myself leaning more towards passives these days. Still want to try some Fishman fluence though.

James did an interview in March, where he said the band have written over 10 new songs in quarantine.

Seems to be somewhat of a metal weekend on Sky Arts for anyone interested. S&M2 being broadcast tomorrow evening (although i have a sneaky suspicion it's only about half the concert)

Best of Download Festival over the last 10 years being broadcast over two parts tonight and tomorrow also.

8 or so festival shows announced for Europe next Summer. Unsurprisingly, no Ireland thus far (and unlikely to be i’d imagine)

Surprising as i thought Metallica’s festival days were behind them seeing as *i’d guess they make more from their own tours.

I wonder is there any uncertainty (please god I hope and pray not) of gigs still going full steam ahead next summer so it might be easier to sign up to a few festivals to test the waters, less hassle and work if gigs get scaled back.

The Foos and others are playing MSG in New York, full attendance (You must be vaccinated , of course !!) so you can see what the stipulation for attending gigs going forward is.

probably a big deal done there worth a fortune, good sign though, industry is gaining confidence
