Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Honestly the first time I walked it was about 3 weeks ago. I stayed away for that exact reason but in the end the smell of cut grass and the pine trees was worth it.

It's still in the tail end of winter condition but quickly getting there. Grass is growing in,evening out in growth and being cut, greens were hollow tined, bunkers raked etc. A few trees have been removed (damaged I'm guessing), the one at the back of the 10th is gone and the bushes cleared out. The damage done by the deer on the 5th near the green is in the early stages of being repaired aswell.

Headfort in warm sunshine yesterday evening. Course is really in superb condition. They have cut the greens down to normal summer height. Hard and fast. Love it!!

2nd hole on the New? Lovely hole. Not a long par 5 but an intimidating drive if you don't have some sort of straight shot in the bag!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,290 ✭✭✭dar_cool

Yeah very intimidating drive. Watching the pros on the challenge tour on this hole was class in 2019. Lines they were taking almost over the trees on the left, Most of them left with 5/6 irons into the green.

    Glashedy Ballyliffin

Got very wet for about 4-5 holes but cleared up after that.
Shot 89 and lost two balls by pulling driver where it wasn't needed. Got birdie on the 8th and lip out off the flagstick from the bunker for birdie on the 18th

Yes, friend of mine played last week for €130 Seve. Those photos Slave are CLASS!!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 19,192 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

Yes, I went for the “domestic” €130 deal, 4 of us went down and thankfully got exceptional weather.
Saw the usual hare or two, a pheasant and for around half an hour a school of dolphins offshore!!!!

I’ve played all those courses, but I have to say I’ve a yearning to get back to Belvoir seeing that, very underrated course IMO.

Best golf photo in existence in my opinion.

This thread has been quiet of late!
Here are panoramas of three of the new holes at Jameson Links

The 17th was a wicked 171m par-3. Today, from the same tees, it is a dynamic 297m par-4, the flag just visible from the tee. What you can't see are the lethal slopes around the green as it is tucked below a ridge. (Take a look right as you leave the 16th tee)

The vast green on the par-3 9th has a wide Biarritz-effect in the middle, and two small shelves either side. It's 135m from Whites. The tee is visible to the left and it plays straight out to sea.

The old par-4 8th was a sharp right-to-left dogleg. Today, from the same tees, it curves ever so slightly to the right, with a central fairway 'island' offering options left (safe) and right (direct) off the tee. 329m from Whites

Was up in Portstewart the past three days. They had a new social media influencer from Cork on the course on Monday (Kim O’Neill, on Instagram and TikTok), and Rick Shiels on Tuesday.

    Meanwhile, from the iphone…
