    Hi All,

Ordered a new car at the weekend, the dealership just got back to us today to say the ETA is the end of November? Makes me think, should they hold off until Jan to get the new year reg? Bear in mind that SSEI grant reduces from 5 to 2.5 k at the end of this month

What did you order? If you wait until 22 you might have to give more money as your trade in will be worth less, assuming you're trading in of course.

There is a global component shortage throughout the motor industry and further afield that is impacting anything being built to order now. The dealer should have warned you of that at the weekend. If indeed it does not arrive until November then I'd just wait until Jan for it. Depending on the car but I'd say most 2021 cars will lose more than the 2.5k grant reduction versus a 2022 one in depreciation as it will be a year older.

Sounds like an electric or Hyprid car if there is a grant involved.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Volvo XC40 Recharge
5000 rebate if ordered before June but there is an expiry on that 5k of 4 months.
Was just onto the dealership earlier (at the weekend they indicated a September delivery date) - IF the car will not be delivered before October then we will just delay picking it up until the new year.
