Can I put doghair in the Brown bin? - literally deshed the dog there and have about a binbag full of hair :) Only got a brownbin recently so have no previous experience of it.

It might depend on your waste provider. I'm based in Galway and our provider states that dog hair can be put in the brown bin.

It's organic material. Doubt it's an issue. I has similar chemical composition to parts of eggshell, shells from shellfish, feathers, outer layers of skin, claws, nails and then you’ve other strong proteins in tendons etc. Bones are also very hard to biologically digest, but it can be done.

In the case of hair it’s just keratin - a very tough protein.
