Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice on family car (€25K budget)

My wife and I are looking into buying our first family car. We've got two kids but both are passed the buggy stage no storage isn't as big a concern as it was.

For context, we've no real commute so the car will see most of its use on weekends where we'll likely use it for long trips. Also, my wife's family are living in the UK so we intend to bring it on long trips over there roughly 4 times per year.

    We've budgeted 20 - 25K.

Would love to get some thoughts on what would suit our needs. Thanks!

Going to recommend the obligatory Octavia. You will get a petrol new model within your budget:

    Renault Captur would be ideal.

You should be able to pick up a used model from a local dealership

for about €17-18K depending on the year you choose to go for!

Mitsu Outlander. Will do little trips around on battery, rest of time in hybrid mode. Decent spec and easy to pick up in budget. Get one with sunroof, leather seats etc.....
