Due to a recent spate of issues with a few family cars and now today my bike, I'm in the market for a battery booster pack.

I don't know much about them so any helpful info would be appreciated.

I would like to get one that will cover most cars and bikes if that is possible. I know the car ones go on engine size so I'd probably get a up to 3L one, but I have no idea what would be useful or safe for the bike.

Can I just use a car one if the clips reach the battery terminals? Or do I need a second bike specific one?

If I need a separate one for the bike I'd be looking for a small one that could be thrown in a backpack or something.

The noco ones are very good. Theyve a website with good info. Personally I would spend a bit on it, particularly if youre going to be carrying it with you on the bike at any stage

To note, diesel cars need more omph then petrols, so check that they're covered and dont just go off the 'litre' measurement

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when I'm looking. I'll check out the noco ones now.

Timely post: was in Halfords on Sunday to return 4 x plugs.

Came out lighter to the tune of 1 x Noco and some farkles. Was actually cheaper than buying it online. GBM20 is what I bought.

Had cause to use it already, and it's brilliant.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Thanks. Halfords near me closed recently but it might be worth a spin to the next one.

To follow up on this, I took the advice here and got the Noco Gb50, which will cover 3L diesel and 6l petrol engines. Its a great size for a backpack if on the bike.
I've used it a few times on cars already and it works a treat.
