    Yes he will

He’ll need to be a wildcard pick if he’s to be in it? I think he’d be a good pick, I think the team work element will suit him

    Out with Harrington today

A good round/finish will go a long long way to securing a wildcard pick.

2 or 3 under would be a great result for Shane and probably top 10 finish. The wind is scheduled to pick up towards the end of his round so they should put the foot down and get in .Hope a few drop for him because he has battled well and deserves a decent finish.

Some low scores on the course today.
    He should attack everything today.
    Driving it brilliantly well.
    Putting cat malogen.

    I think he needs a 68 to fin top10. Maybe even a 67.

I heard Shane did Padraig a big favour earlier in the year by buying his house in Florida when no one else wanted it, and so Shane will be highly likely to get a Captain's nod come Ryder Cup time.

Haro won't pick Shane if hes not there or there abouts as would totally undermine him with the other players. He may favour him in a marginal call but thats all.

At this rate Padraig should be selecting himself as a wild card

Massive 6 and a half footer for Shane coming up at the last

he's not a particularly good driver off the ball

112th on tour for FIR, 70th in distance which is not a good combo

he is also not a good scrambler, he is 172nd on tour for scrambles.

46 strokes gained on approach - again not great

you are correct about his putter though

Another top 10 finish in a major for the extremely limited Shane Lowry.

Another top 10 finish in a major for the extremely limited Shane Lowry.

3rd best European at the Players, 4th best at the Masters and top European at the PGA but doesn't deserve to be on team.

    Whatever, go on Shane!

There’s some ****e talked on this website, and this thread features strongly, but saying Padraig Harrington will pick his mate because he bought his gaff from him in Florida is up there the most amusing.

If Lowry plays well for the rest of the summer, whether he gets there automatically or gets very close, PH will likely pick him.

If he gets cold rather than hot over the next few months, he just won’t get a pick. Imagine Harrington at the Ryder Cup committee meeting after the event if they lost explaining why he picked him. “Eeeeeehhhhhhh, yeah. So I know Shane hasn’t made a cut since May and was 27th on the points list, but the real estate market is gone to pot in Florida and he paid asking for my gaff in Palm
beach before Christmas so I promised him a pick.”

The way the field is coming back, a top 3 finish is on the cards!

I was actually joking. It's the fact the when mcilroy does it its a backdoor top 10 but anyone else, it's a good top 10. Shane did well this week

Harrington commenting how enjoyable a round it was to play with Lowry, and how he put him at ease. Surely a good sign for a wild card pick if required.

That Harrington interview! He bloody loves Shane! Definitely getting a pick

Great finish and a really big boost to his RC hopes. Just has to hope Padraig doesn’t get on the team instead now :D

Ooof, that putt on the last could've got him second alone!

Or a playoff! Need a big collapse by Phil and a bogey for Oosthuizen for a 6 way playoff

I think second alone would've out him in the Ryder Cup places.

Either way he's going to right in the cusp after this.
