And yet Marty brings out the usual comments, "omg how could anyone like that" etc. Such nonsense and sums up why rte are so far behind the times

Aside from the porn fest for the first half of the show, yeah, I guess they are.

Compared to the last competition in 2019, the standard is garbage.
I think overall standard is better.
Unfortunately a few countries entries had better songs in 2020 Iceland and Lithuania especially oh and russia

I dont think any of the favourites this year would get in the top 5 in 2019.

Definitely feels like an excellent overall standard this year

Our record stays intact for another year. But it's only a matter of time.

Never rule out Sweden. They know how to play this Eurovision game. We used to know, but we forgot.

    Never write off the Germans

Really liking the quality of the songs this year. :) Portugal’s jazzy balled is my favourite.

Malta, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belgium, Iceland, France and Cyprus are all strong contenders for the Eurovision crown this year.

He is so out of touch it's frightening. He mocked Italy and Ukraine who will easily be top 5

San Marino should pick Dan Marino to perform, just for rhyming goodness.

The American Football chap who was big in the 80s

And here wa have one of the worst songs of the final..

Flo Rida’s bit is good, but you’d expect it to be for the few mill he was probably paid to do it….

San Marino gave him a big bag of cash to rap a couple of lines and jump about

The money came from the Panini sticker people seemingly!

Can’t understand the condescension from Marty and others in Ireland about perceived novelty acts (which seemingly includes anything with a guitar). We sent Dustin and Jedward to this in the past FFS.

Can't being myself to watch him, but it sounds hopelessly out of touch

    Ukraine or Iceland for me.

Iceland like at least four others lifted the tune from a charts.

Jedward is literally our most successful act of the last fifteen years or so, btw. They weren’t “novelty” acts at all. They stand as the once we actually stumbled into a proper serious entry that stood a chance...
