Deskside, home office, working away. Absolutely miserable weather out there!

In other news, my OH got his Covid vaccine jab at his GP this morning. :) Second one in a month.

Did you get your jab Sardi?

Currently sat at home with a massive pain under my left ribcage... just lovely ffs, ...I'd prefer if you ladies reverted to sticking the pins in my scrotum area instead :D

    I'll be getting it later.

Massive chest pain? Ring a doctor FFS.

No, ffs, it's under the ribs, on the left side .. probably from using the crutch and my body being in an unnatural walking position

Unnatural position, eh? You said it yourself, at our age some things are best left to the younger and more agile. It can get very embarrassing for everyone in the Emergency Department when the inevitable happens.

I'd get it checked out if it lasts or if you're not sure it's from the crutch.

Getting ready to finish a long weeks work. Am afraid to look at the weather forecast for the weekend but have a sneaking suspicion that there will be no BBQ action.
If someone has a voodoo doll of me could you soak it in beer for a few hours please?

Well, that's what comes from unusual positions when you're past it.

    Chilling on the sofa, horizontal.

I was reading a news article about a young couple in their 20s - an Irish lass and a lad of dual British/French nationality, who are going to be caretakers on the Blasket Islands for the Summer - no electricity, limited running water, no internet, no TV etc.

...and I thought to myself - fair play to them! I think I’d like to go away to an island for a few months and do a complete digital detox. :)

I’d need electricity, I could do without other stuff though

    Gas or old fashioned campfire.

Toilets and showers after that all is well with the world!

Surely a combination of wind and solar would keep you well serviced for power. I never, ever, ever want to handwash a family's worth of laundry weekly again.

Only way to cope with no electricity for clothes washing , is to do it daily , no big pile up then . Imo !
Doesn't make doing it more pleasurable though :pac:

Not in winter off the Kerry coast, they wouldn't! The wind would rip the coat off your back, nevermind what it would do yo your fig leaf and what you've got under it.

I feel like a new woman and by god I look it too :D

I suppose if I had a wind turbine that would do for washing the clothes and myself :D
