I didn't realise you cannot get the vaccine 2nd dose if on antibiotics or steroids currently

I guess if your immune system is in any way compromised it’s best off to wait, I wonder how they get around people who are taking steroids regularly

One Life Fitness previously announced they would reopen at the end of May, regardless of any government guidelines or advice.

They’ve now rolled back this, and will reopen in June.

They say the Gardaí have threatened to fine them, their staff & customers. They also say the CRSS would be revoked and mention unspecified legal complications.

Walk in testing in UCC tomorrow from 11 to 7.

Rampant out around there if the rumours are to be believed.

    Where did you hear/see that?

Am in group 7 & am on steroid inhaler for something else. I’m due my second Pfizer jab next week & the nurse who gave me my first jab said nothing about not being able to get the second one if I was on steroids. She looked at my file to see what I was on while asking the same question before administering the jab. So am just wondering where you got that information

So remember the big raves in the UK that were going to lead to a new wave and a huge spike? Guess what. They didn’t.

Did you mean to post that in the main coronavirus thread? Not sure what it has to do with cork in particular, what’s the direct link?

I’m on steroid inhalers I don’t think this affects vaccinations; it’s the regular use of oral steroids that lowers the immune system but likewise had not heard that people weren’t being offered 2nd vaccinations because of this?

    Are raves still a thing?

My cousin is on steroid tablets and antibiotics for a chest infection and his 2nd dose of Pfizer postponed because of the steroids

Great protection from the 1st dose anyway, I'd not worry if I was them.

The article is a bit misleading as the trials were all carried out under controlled conditions with pre testing and admittance to negative results only.

My parents are 66 & 69 years of age and both got vaccinated in City Hall there I think a little over two weeks ago. Has anyone hear heard anything or know anyone who has heard anything about when roughly the second doses will be given?

Got Pfizer jab there on Tuesday morning, told I'd get a text for second jab in 4 weeks time..

You mean 'preliminary data from the research' looks good.

The research itself is far more cautious and has certainly not ruled out one of these raves becoming a large super-spreading event.

I presume they got AZ. If so, their second vaccine is due in August (12 weeks but this could change) and they should get a text about two weeks beforehand.

Is that advice for the Pfizer jab only?
I wasn't asked for my medications when I got the Moderna.
    I do take antibiotics sometimes.

My friend who is steroids regularly got her 2nd dose Moderna in PUC today, might be just my GP delaying with 2nd Pfizer over being currently on other medications like antibiotics

I had the Jansen vaccine yesterday morning in City Hall. Last night I about 12 hours later I had uncontrollable shaking and a temperature. Went to bed and few hours later temperature was normal just some muscle ache.

I started taking ibuprofen after getting the vaccine as the nurse told me and after every 4 hours after that.

    Anyone experience anything similar?

Due to breakout in Limerick, thought the number would be higher?
