Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What did you guys get in the HPAT? I somehow managed to get into the 95th percentile :S

    Well done, that's outstanding. I got 86th.

That’s fab! What is your background in Arkeda?

I studied chemistry as an undergraduate and have been working in a lab the past few years. How about you? Did you also apply to TCD? Haven't heard anything from them yet.

Did you do that in UCD? What kind of lab is it?! I’m actually in my final year of my undergrad. It’s awkwardly specialised and I fear I won’t be anonymous if I say it but it’s definitely not science related! No I didn’t apply to trinity as a mature because I was late with their application but with chem you’ll be right up their street! Do you hope to get GEM? I’m actually retaking my whole leaving cert again to compete with the school leavers as well. The whole thing is a long shot for me but i always wanted to have a do-over on my LC!! Love torturing myself!

No I went to UL and I'm working in a lab in Cork :) Honestly fair play to you doing the leaving cert again, that's the one thing I have been avoiding. I did the GAMSAT for the GEM route yes, but I studied for the HPAT so much I didn't put much effort into studying for the GAMSAT due to burnout so I'm not getting my hopes up. I might consider taking a year off work and study for the LC if I'm not successful this year.

Does anyone know any current or past students in RCSI that went through the Mature Entry route? I received the email from RCSI and I'm curious about the difference between the current/past students' backgrounds and careers etc. were. I'm a 2.2 BSc holder and I've taken the GAMSAT 3 times to try gain entry in the UK. This is the closest I have ever been

I know of two students who are currently studying IN RCSI having gone through the Mature Entry route. Both studied and worked in nursing. Deadline for document submission is quite tight - getting the references is quite tough!!

Got an interview for NUIG! Anyone else? Didn’t really think i’ll be getting an interview with them. :o

My first time applying this year, btw. I’m a General Nursing graduate with 2.2 and hoping my years of experience will help secure an interview with RCSI :D

Big congratulations and best of luck with the interview.

I also applied to NUIG but didn't see that they don't accept those eligible for graduate entry until it was too late. So I unfortunately didn't get an interview!

Well done and all the very best with the interview. I didn’t apply to NUIG, but I was always under the impression they only interviewed people with top hpat scores so congratulations!

I have mine on the 8th of June. Trying to gather as much info as I can for the MMI! Will your interview for UCC also be in the MMI format?

They have just said it’s 10-15 minutes regarding the application and contents of personal statement etc over Microsoft teams.

RCSI mature entry student here, was accepted into medicine last in both TCD and RCSI, so if anyone has any questions regarding the interviews send me a message and I’ll be glad to help.

Congrats everyone and best of luck with the next stage. To those who were not successful, don’t give up. Contact the college and ask for feedback on your application and improve for next year. You’d be surprised how quickly the year will pass.

Hard to see the same interviewers holding 35-40 interviews but who knows

Last year it was two interviewers, and I’m pretty sure some applicants had different people. You’ll be told prior to the interview who is intervening you.

You also meet with Celeste (head of admissions) before you begin.

I did send a confirmation email, but haven’t heard back anything yet.

    Thanks.
