    Tempera?

How do your answers match with mine - stuck on 13 across and down

Could 20 across be 'wield' and then the phrase would be 'Below The Able' (as in Able seaman)?

20A is definitely yield - an anagram, below the able doesn't sound right

I was just thinking along the line of look up and able seaman (rank above ordinary seaman) Belay the able doesn't seem right either, back to the notepad...

Fritzelly - I missed that you asked how my answers compare. (Was multi-tasking yesterday and that never helps)
So, here's a screenshot of what I ended up with, same as yours

'Belay' we think is 13 Down, and separate to the 13 and 15 Across clues, if that helps?

Has anyone from Boards ever won on the rte guide email comps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 336 ✭✭JohnChadwick

Am wondering if it's advantageous to winning competitions if you subscribe to the newsletters/marketing - have never won anything where you need have the option to subscribe to marketing stuff, always tick 'no'.

Yes I won an ipad years ago when I emailed in for the competition in the magazine . I have also won twice from them where there is a link to fill in your details from the Facebook page or their emails they sent out the link is on that too. One was a hamper of hair products, but there ended up being an issue so they offered me a Brown Thomas voucher instead and the second one was a year subscription to the magazine.

Irish Times - Harvey Norman competition

Does anyone have a link to the online bonus token for the above competition? I can't find the link and I will be one token short without it.

The terms and conditions of the competition state

"An online bonus token will be available from Tuesday, 11th May 2021, only one bonus token per entry."

Online competitions are starting to become a bit of a rigmarole.

All we need do is answer a question and add our details.

I hate the “like this tweet 8 times, follow us on our million social media platforms, give us your dads phone number, tag 84 people” sh*te.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,595 ✭✭✭Gormal

A lot moved over to social media channels since the pandemic.. I've taken a step back and only enter what I would like or need.

In other news the set of tyres I won back in Feb 2020 might actually make it onto my car at last........... not for lack of trying since last September.

Don't bother with those comps - too much hassle
Plus I don't trust most of the social media ones to actually select a "random" winner

Yes there is a social diarist, in the north west that has the odd competition but only the well connected seem to win.

I won €1000 for Pavillion Shopping Centre it was round Christmas 2019 and I think it was the issue with the calendar as I had bought the RTÉ Guide I won with. We had a great shopping trip for the sales!!!
