Decided to use that Jullien Season Progress card for a few games just to see what he is like. Only picked him as figured he would be easiest to chem in of the three options. Varane won't be getting back in I don't think, small sample size of only about 7 games but Holy God he is everywhere. 6'5" and turns on a dime.

There's definitely a tendency for us all to look at an icon and if it's not of the really high rated meta icons to just use them in an SBC without even giving them a fair crack.

I was the same with Prime Blanc. Really disappointed when I packed him and read nothing but scathing reviews, but when I actually gave him a go I found he was great!

Base Vidic from Icon Swaps 1 was another example. Everyone I asked told me not to go near him but I got a couple of hundred games out of him before he started to get left behind because of the pace.

I'm also fully convinced there's something under the hood that makes every icon play better than their stats.

Now there's no point in anyone pretending that Giggs is Pele, but 99% of people that pack him won't even give him a fair go. It'd be interesting to see what you'd think of him after 10-20 games.

Yeah after my recommendation of using Jullien earlier I am immediately doing that Zagadou SBC as means I can use Russilon as well and both on full chem. Really wish I had done the Reus SBC now.

I’ll be moaning that he has no skill moves and he’s weak. I need the 4* skill moves. He gave away a peno in a 1-0 defeat in his next game :pac:

Baby Vidic is still in my Utd team, over 800 games with him and still going strong.

Duplicate Sabitzer from the guaranteed.

Threw him into the 85+ and Angelino was the best option.

Would have loved a Davies so I could sell my tradeable one but alas it wasn't to be.

Some great content during TOTS. Premier League was a joke and we really got shafted but they have stepped it up massively since.

They'll probably do the same for Serie A this week and then tone it down for Ligue 1 as they won't want anyone getting an Mbappe or Neymar :pac:

On that note it's madness if Neymar gets a TOTS. Was looking at the stats earlier and he's only played 17 league games. Joint 21st for top scorers with 8 goals and joint 20th for assists. However, we all know there's not a chance he'll be excluded. :pac:

Coman from the Bundesliga Guaranteed. Happy enough as he chems in nicely between Cantona and Rusillon. Have completed Zagadou as well.

Did the 25* 81+ just to get fodder for him as was nearly our of 82-84s. TOTS Coates, De Bruyne, Thiago Silva and an 84 TOTW - so a lot better than I was expecting. Think there was about 8 more 83s & 84s in there too so was grand.

Looking forward to giving Coman a shout (I put his TOTGS Objective card into it so nice symmetry) although I have played the whole game with either Dembele or Rashford on the left so the 3* Weak Foot will take some getting used to compared to the 5* the two lads had.

I think we’ll get some more prem sbc’s during ultimate tots.

Anyway, as nice as some of the bundes cards are, my whole team is untradeable and I have players I genuinely like in real life too, cantona, Rooney, bruno, messi so just going to stick with what I have and not sweat the new cards too much as in a week or 2 there’ll be better “new cards” anyway

Got round to doing some SBCs today. Had a lot of high-rated fodder built up so didn't spend any coins. Did Tapsoba then the Bundesliga Guaranteed TOTS. Messi and Kimmich in the past week

That's not bad at all. If you do Tapsoba, he would slot into the back 3 for Zambrotta and you could stick Zambrotta RWB. Tapsoba seems fantastic after a few games with him this evening.

My chem is a bit fcuked now. Need to figure something out. Have about 1.3M to play with once Matthaus sells. Need to get Zanetti out of the team. Didn't like Dest too much. Only Cole is tradeable. I sub Klaiber on for Desailly.

One very simple change fixes a lot for you, get neuer in goal, switch kimmich to cdm and start cb, desailly to cm and that improved Rooney and messi too to 10

Get a German manager with ligue 1 and you’re up to 100 chem.
Obviously switch the players back then in game.

You could add in players like Jude Bellingham who look great but I didn’t want to change much when neuer solves so many problems

Think I’ll lay off the Bundesliga upgrades today.

Having packed Davies, Hummels, Kimmich, Haaland, Sabitzer and doing the Wama SBC, I’m pretty much running a Bundesliga team now. I can see me grabbing Neuer (if I can convince myself he’s a big enough upgrade on my baby VDS) and maybe even doing that Tapsoba SBC. But I still want to save space for Cantona and Ronaldo on there.

Realistically, I’m not going to pack Lewa or Sancho from further upgrades so it’s probably safer to start saving up for the Italian or French leagues now.
