Driver's seat folding forward and NCT

Hi guys. Bought myself an Alfa Romeo GT a couple of weeks ago. Passenger seat folds forward fine but the cable has snapped off the handle on the drivers side. As a result the seat doesn't fold forward to allow access to the rear seats. I've it booked for an NCT next week and was wondering would it fail over this? Cheers.

Well they need to make sure the rear seat belts work so if they can’t access them it will fail

Not a fail. My mums fiesta has the same issue for a few years but it never caused a problem for the nct.

Lol. They'll go in on the passenger side, it wont fail at all.

OP, buckle the seat belts yourself before the test, saves the tester having to get in and buckle them himself. He can just check they stay in place and then release them, making it much easier for him.

Wont be the difference in passing or failing on something but that little thing will make his life easier.

Should be fine. I had an Alfa GT several years ago with the same issue on the passenger side. It failed for a different reason, the tester couldn’t find the button to release the petrol cap.

Enjoy the car OP. I miss my one.

I said if they can’t access them it will fail. Which is true

    It's up to the tester
    Fail reason
Seats in defective condition or insecure (secondary parts)
Seats in defective condition or insecure (main parts)

Take it to the centre anyway, it may on something else :)

But we know they will be able to access it so saying that makes no sense and possibly creates needless worry for the OP
