Hi, can anyone recommend an insurance company that will cover a Pit Bull? I’m struggling to find one

You could try Alliance. They do ask if your dogs breed is listed on the sh*t* restricted breed list, however, ASFAIK if you follow the muzzle in public rule then you will be covered.

Is your dog definitely an American Pitbull Terrier with papers? If not then you would be better putting him down as being a non restricted breed

We had a staff lab mix who was covered by Allianz. Definitely do not lie on the application - ours asked was your dog on the restricted breed list, or a cross breed of a dog on the restricted breed list, so regardless of if your dog has papers, the answer will be yes. Last thing you want is the insurance to decline cover when you go to make a claim.

This. The idea of telling someone to lie on their insurance application is madness.

All that will happen is that the company will take the money, but the day the person needs to make a claim it just takes someone to take a look at their dog and their claim will be refused. All those years of paying in will have been wasted, even if they aren't accused of lying.
