Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jeez that sounds bad given your speed available.

What's it like on an android phone with the Gamepass app? That was the first platform out with xcloud so should be ahead of the game.

It's great on the right game. I played loads of Jurassic park evolution over the weekend. I got the phone clip for the controller and it is very playable.

I just tried out the streaming in the Edge browser and it's definitely laggier than the android app at the moment. I could see some games being playable but like others have said anything that requires quick precise movements is out of luck at the moment. I imagine this will only improve over though.

    I got access yesterday! :D
I played about 30 mins of Destroy All Humans on ethernet connected PC, via Edge and it was flawless.
    Delighted with it so far!

Tried Outriders today and just felt it was totally unplayable. Nothing about it felt good, did the training bit where you're meant to test your guns, missed basically everything, and just turned it off. It looked bad, it felt bad, I don't see myself using this for a while until they improve it (which I'm sure they will).

Outriders is so bad they should remove it. I spent 5 mins just aiming wilding and missing everything. It is only this game that has this issue. Most other shooters are spot on.

Interesting. I might try something else then thanks. I just assumed it was a problem with the service rather than a single game.

Were you playing on the app or the browser? I've definitely found the android app to run better than the browser on my laptop over wireless.

In the browser. Can also try the app but not really mad on playing on my phone

Disappointed as to how bad this runs for me. I have Gigabit Internet and get about 300 down on Wifi, and over 900 down on 5G but yet it's barely playable. Something like Sims 4 that doesn't require much response time is okay at best, but aside from that games are unplayable. I'm raging cos I'm a Stadia user playing in 4K and that works a treat.

I won't hold it against Microsoft though as i realise it's a beta, and I'm happy to have been selected in general cos I've only had the Series S/GamePass for a week!

I sideloaded the app to my Chromecast w Google TV and it works flawlessly! Every so often the connection symbol in the top right will show but that's it. Very interesting given how poorly it runs eslwhere for me

I picked up a Razer Kishi controller for my phone and i have to say it's a gamechanger. xCloud now works amazing, it connects straight to your phone and not via Bluetooth for less latency, even playing the likes of Forza and it feels like it's actually a mini xbox and not just a stream. It's pricey @€;100 but definitely worth it

Now i just need a bigger phone :pac:

Bah, this forum has convinced me to get one now, could do without spending the money but sounds worth it.

You won't be disappointed. But as mentioned, prepare to pay more for a bigger phone 😄

I picked one up from Argos there. I have a OnePlus 8 Pro so phone feels huge when I use it with the Kishi. It works great I have to say, no setup required other than plugging it in and this has gone from me not ever being bothered with streaming to probably going to use it a lot now. Just have to figure out what to play now.

Just grabbed mine there too, still at work so can't really give it a proper go but fired up Deep Rock Galactic for a couple of minutes and just ran around the space station to see how it felt. Very impressed with it, I tried celeste a few days ago with touch controls and it was horrid but this thing basically turns my phone into an Xbox Switch!

Also the android one definitely does have clickable analog sticks, I think someone asked that on here the other day.

Think I'll definitely pick one of these up down the line, once I start commuting again, they do look like the ideal controller for streaming as I use stadia as well as xcloud.

Away for a few nights and forgot to pack the Kishi, tried Yakuza LAD there and it ran absolutely perfectly on 4G, wouldn't have known it was streamed, just could not do the timed button prompts on the touch screen so stopped. But I'm becoming a fair convert to this cloud thing.

Interesting insights about Microsoft looking to do XCloud streaming to the console - opening up some possible options like 'try before you buy', 'start playing the game while it downloads' (aka. a proper 'Ready to Start') or even getting Xbox One owners to play some Series X|S games on their existing console.

Can you play FM manager on x cloud ? Could you play something like new age of empires with it ?

No just Xbox games,, I think each server is like 4 Xbox one S and you get one of those when you play.
That are changing them to series x in next few weeks

FM is on Xbox but I can't see it on the cloud offering. At least not in game pass ultimate.

Can you use this with your phone case on or does it have to be out of it?

    Thanks.

Got mine recently for €70 from Amazon. My phone has to be out of the case, given the size where you slot in the usb C port I would imagine all phones have to be removed from the case. Loving it though. Have used it for stadia, GFN, xcloud and remote play, takes a little getting used to it but definitely glad I bought it

Xcloud + Kishi + Hades. The future has arrived!

Well I suppose not yet because Hades isn't out yet 😅

Will be interesting to see how it performs, even minor lag would make Hades unplayable I reckon.

I’ve the PowerA Moga Mobile Clip, does the job and you can still use the elite controller.

What mobile networks are people playing on? my phone is on gomo, and even with full reception, the performance is still unplayable on a pixel 3a.
The wifi at home is 2.4ghz, so less than optimal also.

I play xcloud and stadia on mobile data with Gomo occasionally and it runs like a dream. Sometimes better than my WiFi if I'm at other end of the house to the router.

They upgraded performance for a bunch of games in the last day or two, just played a bit of Yakuza LAD and the load times are a fraction of what they were.

I'm away for a few days next week so will bring the Kishi, looking forward to testing it out more.

They're rolling out Series X server blades. Games are still running on the One S profile for now, but the loading times will improve significantly.

Tom Warren at the Verge reported that the Yakuza LAD version had the Performance / Graphics options in the menu, rather than running on the One S profile.

Does anyone here have any experience with this controller for iPhone on xCloud?
    https://playbackbone.com

Idk if it was part of the servers upgrade but even the network latency got way better. Now it's definitely playable.

It's also available on Win10 and iOS now too, not just for xbox insiders

Is it still in the beta testing phase? I still find it pretty unplayable for most games.

I find it works well for turn based stuff, like Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been absolutely fine but also tried some stuff that needs quicker reactions and it just doesn't work too well for that imo. So pick your games I guess.

I wouldn't recommend the speed bike section in Battletoads.

The game very kindly lets you activate invincibility once you've died a certain amount of times, not that such a hardcore gamer as myself would ever dream of using such a feature :pac:

I find the lag with the controller just doesn't lend itself to anything that I have played so far such as GTA V, PES, etc. Driving and aiming are just impossible.

I thought I would be able to play this on my Amazon fire tablet once i did abit messing with it and installed google play store on it but won't download any Xbox apps off it or install apk version so looks like I'm going have buy a tablet if I want to do it !

Works fine for me on my Fire 8 tablet, using the Xbox game pass app and an Xbox wireless controller :)

I hope that's not true! Have you tried the fire toolbox? Great piece of software for getting the most out of those Amazon tablets :)

Having an annoying problem with my saves not syncing. I'll be playing something on the console, save and close down the game, but it just seems to take ages to catch up when I try play something on the cloud. Like for the next hour it'll still be showing old saves. Any way to manually sync things? I can't find any option.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 10,395 Mod ✭✭✭✭CatInABox

Hmm. That's very odd. How's your internet connection?

Anyway, first step is always a hard restart. While it's on, hold down the power button for ten seconds. It'll go through the long start up process.

My internet is very good, have 500mb Virgin and I get very good speeds. Just tried it again this morning and it's always like one session behind if that makes sense, played for an hour this morning on the console but not reflected on cloud gaming. I'll try restart the console to see if it triggers a sync.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,503 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

I'm in the alpha ring on my Series X and got to try out the on console cloud streaming tonight!

It's damn near perfect! I might not bother with large game installs again, unless I play on playing them full time or really miss the 4K.

And having to play the games for the rewards points will be a breeze, without wasting download time.

I've already been playing a lot on the PC in the browser too, so this is another handy option, that's much welcomed 🙂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,917 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

It will be great for those games you just want to try out. Rather than waiting hours to download (and often losing interest while you wait) you can play right away....and then lose interest :)
