Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacing a van and commercial tax

I have a van taxed commercially for 14 years and am looking to replace it. A few years after getting it, I remember having to fill out a declaration form and get it stamped in the local Garda station to renew tax. I only had to do this once off, it wasn't required for subsequent tax renewals.

I'm looking at a new van and the question is will I have to go through this process again ? In other words is the form I originally submitted linked to me or my current van ?

Yes you will need to supply a new goods only declaration

In my experience each county council have their own variations on the 'rules' and some may look for things that others won't.

Probably best to make contact with your local motor tax office and see what they require.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

You can use your pps number instead of vat number
