Yer pulling in UK law there. Non locking and under 3 inches and you don't need to justify it in public in the UK, no such law here. A simple swiss army could land you in trouble here.

You can also throw screwdrivers, big nails, sharpened reinforcing steel, tomahawks....

Decide what style you want to learn (Spin or no spin) and get a decent solid steel "knife" to learn with.

Actually get the ones that come in sets of three, saves the legs walking to retrieve them.

Set up a decent backstop, keep animals indoors (and kids I suppose), and have a go.

You will have a sore arm the first few times, watch for knives bouncing back at you too.

My favourite throwers atm are either cold steel or Colt branded ones, get a decent sized yoke with a bit of mass to it to help it stick (the odd time the point hits).

The lads at JJT can get most stuff for you if asked, it's a bit close to Christmas now to guarantee you'll get them in time, but have a look online and ask the lads.

Do get down the hardware or local "Deals" or equivalent, see if you can get some cheap screwdrivers or big nails to have a mess with whle waiting on a better set. Nicely made stuff with a spring temper does hold up better, don't get anything with handle scales attached as they will fail and fly off.
