where to buy a hook

hi all,

I am looking to hang a hammock

At one end is a tree, and the other I am putting a 6x6 post into the ground to hang the hammock from.

I've the post bought, and am now looking for a suitably robust hook to put on it to hang the hammock

I am thinking an M16 or m18 hook, pref with a 150mm(minimum) bolt on it or a screw end to drive into the post.

Does anyone know where I can get such a thing ?

I’d say you have more chance of finding a heavy duty eye bolt.

I'd say that one is better, takes more weight and also no chance of your hammock slipping off it which could be painful.

Can I ask where you got the 6 x 6 post and how you fixed base ?

timber trove in Rathfarnham its going into the ground with a lot of concrete.
