No not been rude but not all diagnostic machines pick up all faults on a car and garages normally have more than one machine to recheck on.

    Are you based in Dublin?

    No I'm in Cork.

My mechanic scanned it. Originally 2 faults showed up.

One was a fuel pressure sensor, and the other more recent was the inlet manifold runner/sensor.
After clearing the faults, the fuel pressure sensor one never returned.

    The manifold sensor one has.

Anything else on your situation? I'm at a loss, my i40 is driving perfect again pulling normally when I put my foot down, starting up instantly when I turn the key, no limp mode, my mechanic is going to think I'm wasting his time when its due in on Thursday.

Might be worth throwing in some fuel cleaner with a low tank and bring car for a good burn on motorway.

If it has gone into limp mode after you last saw him codes might have been stored.

These are the things that happens with cars and when is the right time for faults.

If you just removed a clogged fuel filter that was actually stopping the car from starting, any chance anyt crap got down the lines behind - might be worth sticking some redex or other fuel cleaner in and giving it a good run.

I know my BMW started acting up and codes were off, a change of MAF (easy one to do in my case and only a few quid in the local motor factor) sorted the issues.

Years ago i had a car that required a new ECU - used to hit limp mode randomly, all sorts of codes etc. tried a bunch of things and in the end new (well second hand new) ecu solved all issues.

I haven't got the car back yet. Should have it tomorrow. One of the sprockets with the timing chain kit was wrong.

As for the limp mode, on the mechanics recommendation, I'll be replacing the manifold runner/sensor.

He's fairly adamant now that's the problem.
