Oil tank valve open or closed

    My boiler just started leaking kerosene. I want to close the valve on my oil tank but it was turned half way so I'm not sure which direction to go. Which way do I turn the tap? Clockwise or anticlockwise?

    To close clockwise to open anticlockwise
