Hi, planning to replace my Garden lights, so took a look into the box they are connected to. Will strip and connect with new block, but there was alot of organic material inside. Anyway of limiting this going forward?

Get an IP66 junction box and make sure it's raised above the ground. You can silicon seal all around if you like for extra seal but needs to be resealed each time it's opened.

In more critical applications, nothing beats a IP66 box within a larger box / enclosure.

Ip junction box and a heap of magic gel, pricey but worth it
