New work laptop Alternative to HP Probook

I'm currently working from home as a Teacher (home lecturing in the evenings and day in the school)

I've been loaned a HP Probook Intel Core i5 10th gen for use for the term. Not sure if I will be allowed to keep it longer.

So I'm looking around for an alternative just in case. I'm finding it excellent, works well for everything I need, which is mainly MS office, running Zoom and Teams.

Am I going to be able to find an cheaper alternative or am I as well off saving up for same model.

Thanks for any advice.

they cost about 900 to 1.2k euro new

probably can get something just as good for a little less.

what size screen are you looking for and what is your max budget?

That's expensive enough! Although I guess you get what you pay for. That one in Currys is worth a look at as well thanks

I think I'll keep an eye out for alternatives. I think the screen size I have is 14", I wouldn't want any smaller. Are there any other brands I could consider?

Its been a long time since I bought a laptop, think my last was an Asus about 10 years ago!

For 745 or so after discount that lenovo looks a good option

Great build quality with all metal chassis and good screen

Light and marathon battery life

Lenovo are the successor brand to what used to be ibm laptops

In the mid range and above ( non budget segments) they make good quality laptops generally
