I hate Micras, but late K11 is preferable to K12, and this one is in a lovely purple colour.
Alright for a grand I suppose

These are getting rare now, nice spec on this one, Zetec Climate

Usual rust caveat applies, but this has a bit of test so how bad could it be?

This is the very top end of what an old shape Corolla is worth, but it’s a nice spec with claimed low mileage. NCT to September. Same owner last 12 years.

Climate control, rare to find on these.
Our 05 was 1400 from a dealer in December 2018. These seem to be creeping up in price.
Even at the asking price there, that'll be great value for money for whoever buys it.

Every 02 one I've seen was in that colour, great car in fairness, lovely to work on.

That’s a UK T3 spec, very similar spec to the Luna model we got here. All the facelift uk Corollas had quite good spec.

I bought a few of them back around 10 years ago, very easy to sell on and as you say easy to work on. They all needed CV joints!

Not the worst colour. Looks like hes just parked up after dumping a dead body (a small one if it was in the boot of a micra).

Id be sorely tempted, the lack of stress they bring is priceless.
Only issue I find with ours, and seems a general issue with them, is rust. Itll kill them off long before the engine ever does.

Those corollas really were the last of the good ones a family member has an 05 it's the most abused mistreated poor thing and it's never left her down.

I buy and treat my car's like children and they always leave me down lol

Whoever buys that one in blarney should have many years care free motoring

Fair chance you'd get this at 2k, especially if you said youd trek all the way up to donegal.
    New nct

Before anyone makes the long trip, I'd ask why the front fogs are taped over/blanked off and why the lower half of the side doors ares painted non factory black.

There's no pic of the rear, hiding more damage? Plus it's not a 1 owner, it's had 2 in the UK

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,859 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

I'd say those fog lights were broke and taped over for the NCT.

Probably a bit above the bageromics threshold, but are these any good?
I intend using it for house renovation and Ikea trips. Can the seats be taken out?

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/2008-mitsubishi-grandis-diesel-7-seater-new-nct/27491296

Or keeping it more bangeromics , would this 09 S Max be better?

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/09-ford-s-max-1-8-tdci-zetec-model-nct-9-21/27704900

    or the Galaxy
    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/2008-ford-galaxy-1-8-diesel-new-nct-tax/27507919

Or this 08 Scenic for 1,150 , but the seller might be a car flipper with 360 previous adverts, I'd be dubious he's selling on problem.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/renault-scenic-08/27772225

Would this newer Scenic be best at 1k more.

I’d pay the extra for the Scenic

    Plus it's not a 1 owner, it's had 2 in the UK

Where can you find that info without the UK registration number?

From a car history check using the Irish registration , the report gives you the UK registration

You could also check the VLC whee the previous reg would be on it, you would need to ask the current owner/seller.
You could then do UK MOT check online if it was ever done while it was there.

The Auris that followed them wouldn't hold a candle to them. I had a 04' Corolla 1.4 petrol h/b back in the day and a 09' 1.4 petrol Auris. Auris felt flimsy and lower grade compared to the Corolla. It felt lethargic and was much less economical also. It was rust in the main that killed the Corolla in the end. It was a UK import, that was imported in, in 2008.

    Tax €390 pa

Just short of 100k on the clock, with some tax. Don't know what kind of reputation 1.4l is like. "One family owned". €1550 - a handsome car.

It won't excite anyone, not very powerful, and van be thirsty is fully loaded, but they are OK. Spacious enough inside, and easy insured which makes them a good starter car for someone.

It breaks my heart seeing the rust ruining ours. The engine is superb and will go forever I reckon.

    Big time.
    Nice colour too.
One of the best finds on here in a good while.

That 308 is terrible. Within 60 seconds I figured the flywheel was wobbling, a bit later found 4th gear knackered and, after the immediate u-turn, the clutch is worn.

None of this admitted by seller.

Everything about it was dodge from the moment I met the guy, but I stuck it out to see how bad it could get. I wasnt disappointed.

It's an €800 auction fixer upper. At least they werent off the mark on asking.

Got a knock around car for a year a 07-Honda Accord 2ltr petrol vtec which I paid 1100 euro around 11 months ago as a run around. NCT is up in July. Tax is 710 for the year.

    Current Issues:
Needs a new alternator as draining battery and can see lights flickering sometimes when driving.
Right electric power window button doesn't work.
Wiper motor is gone in front. Needs replacement.
    Huge rip in front seat.
God knows whatever else if i bring to NCT

Should I just stick up online for 500 or is there somewhere i can bring for a couple of hundred that will pay me for the car?

I have no interest in putting any money into it. I'm going for a 2010 corolla so just wondering any advice on the honda?

    Love these Avensis.

Seen this one around, very clean example, daily driver, small bit of lacquer peel on the bonnet is the only negative I've seen on it.
