    Hi guys,

    I’ve a 2015 BMW 218d.

I ran the Carly App OBD on it for the first time in a year and it showed up, amongst other minor bits, this:

284E00 Lambda probe to Kat, signal Nernst voltage: interruption.

I cleared down the codes and then ran Carly again a few days later and the same fault is back.

I know not everything that the reader throws up needs fixing, but what do you think in this instance? Sort out a lambda sensor?

    Thanks a mill,
    Chris

Update I-Level of car first to be certain.
BUT, probably sensor on them - fairly common.

Hey there, thanks for the reply, but what’s ‘update I-Level’?

Just had a read of what an I-Level update is. Sounds serious and not something I could attempt myself. Should probably get in touch with my closest dealer? Any idea what type of cost I could expect?

Doesn't have to be a dealer.
    Generally €180 if standard update.

But probably just sensor in your case. If you give me reg I'll get you part number.

    Gives me WBA2G52080V660155
The O2 Sensor AFTER Cat is:
    BMW 13 62 8 589 104
    =Bosch 0 281 004 616
    Approx €250

    Very common sensor to fail.
However, check wiring to be sure.

BMW recommend software update with replacement usually.
    I'd update software regardless.
