Concrete thickness for bin port

I'm planning to pour a slab of concrete in a corner of the garden for my wheelie bins to rest on. Have some spare aggregate, so may as well get it done. I've worked the area an put forms in position. The pad is approx 3 x 8 feet. The depth varies from 2-3 inches and the surface is silt and dirt which i've lightly compacted.

I plan to build a cedar wood enclosure on the pad eventually so I don't have to see the bins in the garden.

Will 2 inches of a 4:1 mix be sufficient for the pad, or should I make sure it's all at least 3 inches deep?

the ground needs to be firm, otherwise the slab will crack, if you had a layer of well compacted hardcore down 2" would work, leave a strip abound the edges that might be 4 inches deep. over kill would be a sheet of A 142 steel mesh in the centre of the layer.
4:1 very strong so make sure you keep it well wetted when curing for the first 7 days

No expert but I'd be leaning towards min 3" or 75mm, especially if no sub base as such.
Mesh is overkill but will keep to all together and prevent cracking.
Assuming you will be fixing your timber structure to the slab, this fixings will need to go at least 50mm into the concrete.
