Really detest the word ‘Variant’ at this stage, and detest the scaremongers who exaggerate it even more. Down right lies at this stage.

You cant argue with 50% more contagious.

Especially when used by people who don’t understand vaccine efficacy

So are we really staying at level 5 to May?
With a few tweaks but it looks like level 5 to me.

Yea, things will get even worse for the taxpayers fg lied about representing. Hitting even the working poor with a marginal tax rate of FIFTY Percent. Micjey mouse will go, but varadkar etc, will likely pay the price for the years of appalling lack of leadership, "decision making " and years of economic mismanagement ...

Nah Leo and his band will happily sit in opposition while SF make everything worse, then sweep the board next time with promises of fixing it all.

It'll be 2011 all over again

Ffg are parasites, what you predict, may pain out... but fg are now proven liars beyond a doubt. Particularly leaky Leo. I'll be accused of being a tin foil hatter here, but shutting down construction and further inflating property prices, is ffg wet dream...

So currently a person can exercise with another household but from mid April people can meet outdoors but not in our gardens. What has changed?

Not like 2 households can meet up and sit down for a coffee at a coffee shop. Unless they fine a wall to sit on.

People are already sitting out together in parks, on benches, on the canal having Cans. From mid April they'll be allowed to do what they are already doing.

Having the chance to see people in person and not on a screen and the GAA coming back are the only bright spots for me on todays announcement

Pissed off we got no plan and possible dates for reopening of all sectors

I can argue with the variants blocking the vaccine with regards to severe Covid though. Like I said, down right lies! fook the scaremongering bollox at this stage, it's not right.

For those who think we'll be wearing masks and social distancing for years to come....

Fully vaccinated people from two households now allowed to meet indoors without masks or distancing
    This measure takes effect immediately.

Now this is actually something positive!

It is a positive in fairness, but who is wearing masks in a private home?

I'd say little to none to be fair

2 households? What happens if a 3rd vaccinated person shows up?

People fully vaccinated taking orders from the government about how many of them can meet and where?

I only wear one when I visit my in laws (in their garden) as they are very high risk.

But its a good sign and might put to rest all the zealots thinking we'll be in masks forevermore.

Delighted that Elite Sports training can resume on 19th April although I didn't even realise it had been stopped.

They haven't trained in months just look at the national soccer team, Not fit to wag.;)

Masks will disappear the moment the threat of prosecution/fines is removed.

It's the same for travel restrictions. As soon as the Gardai removed the checkpoints last year, people went where they liked.

Some people are confusing fear of prosecution with support for restrictions though

Three travellers staying in mandatory hotel quarantine have tested positive for Covid-19 and have been moved to a ‘Covid wing’ within the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Dublin Airport.

Can anyone tell me what the story is with vulnerable members of society in all this?
