Xinjiang and golf companies

    Good to see Nike and Adidas making some kind of stand against the treatment of the Uighurs in Xinjiang. It's a big cotton producing region but forced labour and modern day concentration camps to oppress the Uighur Muslims. H&N have stopped using cotton from there in all of their clothes and have been removed from stores and Web search results in China. A big commercial penalty to be paid but this oppressionhas to be stood up to.

    Nike and Adidas are heavily involved in golf industry so its somewhat applicable

    The involvement of the golf industry in countries with poor human rights practices has been discussed on this forum before, most recently the holding of events in the Middle East.
    Nike and Adidas mainly golf clothing but probably other companies making clubs or other equipment there.

    If they really cared it wouldn’t have taken so long to show up. They’re just doing what the pr machine recommends. Let’s not pretend they really care

    You're probably right. But why would the PR machine recommend it if it wasn't for some pressure being applied by those who really do care?
