Flooring cost on 3 bed semi

    Hi.
    Looking at moving into house that doesn't have any flooring in it.
    I'm waiting to hear back on a price of flooring it from tradesmen.
    No idea on what it could/should cost. The house is your average 3 bed semi-detached. It's about 16-20 year old .
    It previously had flooring down so I'm assuming it's all level.
    We were thinking some sort of grey laminate flooring all over , missus has never been a fan of carpet. So wooden stairs maybe.( If carpet Is alot cheaper we'd go for that on stairs and landing)
    The house is about 100m2.
    I was told by some people I know (bar stool talk) about 1.5k to 2k supplied and fitted.
    Does that sound right?

    Sounds cheap to me for supply and fit @ 15-20 euro per sqm. Ours worked out at over 44 per sqm across range of tiles / laminate. Cheap laminate is cheap for a reason, ask yourself will you be happy with this on the floor for the next few years?

    Ye not going to get the cheapest laminate. Just looking for a ball park figure on average.
    For your 44€ per sqm, was that for 8mm or more size laminate.
    What is the difference in sizes? Thicker mean they just last longer?

    Go for 12mm AC4 laminate as a minimum.

    Are there an Irish equivalents of this place?

    I've done 3 (and soon to be 4) bedrooms myself for ~£20m2. Laminate is simple to lay, skirting can be a bit tricky depending on styles.

    For the laminate we typically went for a style we liked before looking at thickness or AC rating. AC4 is fine for a house, maybe consider AC5 for high wear area. We went AC5 for most and one happened to be AC6 all 8 or 10 mm.
