    Hi Op,

Just the note on your doctor, they are only paid if you go ahead with the surgery. It shouldn’t be looked at in the same way as other medical surgeries. Have you spoken to your own GP for independent medical advice ?

On the extra weight around your midsection, if you completely cut out sugar, including anything with sugar ( processed foods etc) in it for six weeks you should lose this weight. https://news.llu.edu/health-wellness/lose-belly-fat-by-cutting-out-sugar . I think other posters have touched on it but women store fats here to gear them up for pregnancy/ breastfeeding. It’s no accident it’s the hardest place to lose weight from.

I wouldn’t care about what other people think of you doing this surgery. You just need to make sure you are comfortable with doing it and accept the risks associated with it. No surgery is risk free. Also, I suppose you know but there is a chance this will scar slightly so you need to weigh those facts up too.
