I was looking at a meteor ad in todays paper which showed a Sagem phone (with colour display) for €139, and €70 call credit.

What are Sagem phones like to use ?
Are they reliable ? (I have only used Nokias in recent years).

Also, Is it possible to buy the phone from Meteor and then change over to the O2 network (or is the phone restricted to Meteor) ?

    Cheers,
    Silvera.

From my previous enquiries - You need to be with Meteor for 6 months and pay something to be unlocked from their network. (not sure if that is still the case).

Is it the MyX-5? I'm also interested but wondering about availability of parts/connectors.

    It is what it's.

    Silvera,

I have a Sagem, which someone gave me as a present. I don't use it much because my main number is an 087 and I haven't bothered porting the number.

But feature wise it's pretty good and it's very easy to use (I'm used to using Nokias).

I have no idea at what point it becomes unlocked, although you can buy phone unlockers online. They cost over e100, though.

I paid £5stg for a cable to unlock my nokia 3310... there are cables for almost all phones available for under €20 if you have a good search on google which can be used to unlock. I wouldn't pay €100 under any circumstances..

Some of the newer phones don't even need a cable to be unlocked.. just a piece of free pc software which you input the IMEI number into..

    Thanks for the info guys.

Yes, oneweb, it is a MyX-5 that I am thinking about.

    Emerson,
Where could I get that "free pc software" ?

    Cheers,
    Silvera.
