They don't outside of a narrow framework, multiple groups volunteering their services have been turned down flat. As I understand it, being a blind devotee of the government makes everything magically operate like clockwork.

That the protests would kill people and put us in danger, people saying it was disgusting to see anyone planning on gathering when they are at home trying to kee their family safe, that any protests in general against lockdown should not be allowed, that we would soon be the highest rate of covid on earth again if we let it go ahead

Again, clearly called out in the article - if the IFR was 3% and the attack rate was 80%. That was over a year ago when so little was known a 3% IFR was not beyond the bounds of speculation.

And yet the lockdown and suppression methods are exactly the same ones based on this speculative proven faulty guestimate.

If we are now in a position to acknowledge that its not as bad as the initial worst case or indeed medium case modelling - surely its time to consider that the chinese model of suppression might not be required - especially when the vulnerable are already vaccinated.

I remember back in August amazon's aws cloud computing division offered to help with the vaccines rollout. as of February the offer has not been responded to so that's the extent of meeholes gratitude. i suppose some school chums contract might have been in jeopardy had he taken aws's offer

It would appear that many people are now so infused with abject fear, and a blind belief that mankind itself is inherently tainted, that they will accept & endorse the most stringent form of Social Management.

I would not be at all surprised if we did'nt yet see the Offences against the State Act being used to ensure the State's appareatus functions to it's fullest.

Finally the internal conversations at ISAG come to a wider audience. No denial of the content of leaked emails, so confirmed as verified now then?

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/politics/arid-40243364.html

Absolute scandal that Staines, Killeen and Ryan are given any airtime. Hopefully this will give RTÉ pause before inviting them to give their ‘expert’ opinion in the future.

I don’t agree with Ronan Mullen stance on most things, for the record, but what an arrogant dismissal of a senator by Staines - ‘I tend not to pay too much attention to Rónán, I hope that does not upset him.’

    For anyone not bothered with full read here is an example of what was contained in correspondence at ISAG;

‘Four weeks ago, the head of the group wrote to its members asking them to look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty and to go after people and not institutions because “people hurt faster than institutions", Senator Mullen said, under privilege.‘

Did you hear the one that said “your right to protest doesn’t give you the right to kill your fellow countrymen”?

WHO saying continue with AZ vaccination - and the EU , whose vaccination program has been so slow already , stop vaccinating .

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56404542

UK continue vaccination , and the EU program lags further behind - the only thing they seam to be doing well is never-ending lockdown - the answer to everything , yet causing such crhronic suffering to so many .

This really does require further investigation, and perhaps some moves to remove the Parliamentary Privilege in relation to Senator Mullen's statement.

If this is true, then this group and the specific members involved should be called to PUBLIC account ?

That is what happens when people are fed lies for 12 months on end, with no chance for receiving objective and factually correct information. I’m not surprised tbh.

    They haven't.

The following groups are all those who have received or about to recieve the first shot or have already received a second dose of vaccine or in process to do so. They make up the most vulnerable cohorts of people.

The groups currently being vaccinated against COVID-19 are:

those aged 65 years and older who live in long-term care facilities (group 1)

    frontline healthcare workers (group 2)

people aged 70 and older living in the community - at different stages (group 3)

people aged 16 to 69 who are at very high risk (group 4)

AFAIAA,a fine can only be issued by a Court.

I think you're expecting a Fixed Penalty Notice, which these days, can be issued by Gardai if you look crooked at them.

You have a specific time to pay the FPN,after which it's referred further for a prosecution in court, where the fine could be higher....unless,you manage to get a Judge who has'nt lost his/her sense of proportion ?

You could plead your case that you were only keeping up with accepted Social Norms...

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40244804.html

The article indicates the extent to which the State is now going to demonstrate it's powers....a bit of muscle flexing,if you will,in it's crusade to
    keep the frightners on....

    This is grim
New data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that people living in more urban areas, where services are accessible, were more likely to remain in their locality.

    Groundbreaking scientific data.

The news items are a world a way from 12 months ago when stories of ventilator shortages made the headlines.

Was out and about today loads of traffic on the road loads of people not wearing masks, loads people living normally. Didn't come across any Garda checkpoints either. Good to see people are beginning to stop giving a fcuk but unfortunately I think the government are going to keep up the fear mongering and get their way again unfortunately like they did in January.

Was in a petrol station with a big no mask no entry in the shop even though staff behind the counter weren't wearing masks. I'm guessing if I forget to bring a mask to this garage and fill up my tank that means the fuel is free. I'll keep that in mind next time I run low.

I think gas stations have a mask or two on rotation for such cases :D

Here's Dr Ray Walley from today's NPHET lecture giving out about a family catching Covid by going to visit a dying family member.
He also went on to criticise an elderly lady for going to her brother's funeral and picking it up.
